Extraordinary People

December 31, 2013
I watched CNN's Extraordinary People special.  In reality, they was just ordinary people who responded when presented with extreme circumstances.  These were the people who dug deep within themselves to handle a situation that others are not sure that they'd be able to handle.  They were teachers protecting student during the tornadoes in Oklahoma, the bookkeeper who stopped a shooter in an Atlanta school, the spectators who responded during the bombing at the Boston Marathon.  Every day we are presented with something that we aren't sure we can overcome.  It may not be a shooter or a bomber but still it is something that tells us that we can't.  Maybe in these situations we should become one of these extraordinary people and not think about how 'we can't' but instead just dig deep and do what has to be done.  I hope 2014 is the year we become our own extraordinary person!!!!

How to hire a comedian!

December 2, 2013
This should probably be titled "How to Hire the Right Comedian".  It is easy to hire a comedian. Just do a google search of your city and comedian and you'll probably come up with a hundred youtube videos, websites, and even some agents who book comics.  Pick out a few really great websites, send them an email, give them a price your willing to pay, tell them you want "clean comic".  The comedian will respond that of course they can work "clean", of course they are perfect, and you hire them....

I am in MN!

July 27, 2010
We have finished the first leg of the Stand Ups for the Troops Comedy Tour.  It was a success and we were thrilled to meet many new friends.  I can't thank everyone for their support including not only audience members but club owners and comics who came by to do guest sets.   Then I left Fl and headed for Eau Claire, WI.  This was my first trip to WI and obviously my first time to this club which is always and adventure.  What a wonderful surprise to find the sweetest little bed and breakfas...

I am even shocking myself now!

July 14, 2010
I have decided to, at the very least cut down on the smoking and perhaps even quit.  I wish I had some great story about what brought this about, but there isn't one.  I will be using the electronic cigs in the next couple of days and I'll keep you posted on how this works out.  This should be interesting especially for those folks about to spend close to 5000 miles in a car with me.

Watching the news coverage of Lindsay Lohan's upcoming sentence.  They said she will be staring at the outside ...

One Day to starting the tour!

July 12, 2010
I am very excited about starting the long tour for Stand Ups for the Troops Comedy Tour.  I have been so focused on the logistics and wardrobe that I had almost forgot why Iwe doing the tour until this morning.  I have had the advantage of spending time in the Lawyers for Warriors office and this morning they received another disturbing case.  A service person on his third tour of duty came home to find that his wife had left him, taken their children, and drained the bank account.  You would...

Stand Ups for the Troops - We are on our way

July 1, 2010
This comedy tour is finally starting to seem very real now.  We are less than two weeks from our start and things are starting to come together.  Martza, the executive director of Lawyers for Warriors, and I did our first TV interview to promote the tour.  Polk County Government TV is the best.  Nate and Bryan were the best.  They even went above and beyond the call of duty and helped us film our PSA's.  It was 110 degrees and they are the most patient men that I have ever met.  Here is the l...

Training for the road

June 27, 2010
Things couldn't be going better for the "Stand Ups for the Troops" comedy tour.  We kick off the run on July 13 at Coconuts Comedy Club in St. Pete Beach.  We are excited about the tour.  Johnny Mac and I will not only being doing the comedy show, but will also be visiting at veterans hospitals and clinics along the way.  We decided we'd really live on the edge and we'll be doing video blogs, tweeting, and four square on the entire tour.  Time to show the world the really funny side of comedy...

On the road for a good cause!

June 7, 2010
I am happy to be putting together a comedy fundraising tour for a very worthy charity.  Lawyers for Warriors was founded this year when a soldier, paralyzed while serving in  Afghanistan, was served a foreclosure notice.  He was hospitalized at the time and there was no one to help him.  Warriors for Lawyers was formed to help with just such cases.  They will find attorneys to provide free legal services, and we are raising money to help defer other legal services just as court costs and  fil...

Technically challenged!

May 24, 2010
What do you mean I need to twitter?  Just when I think I have the whole social networking thing down, someone wants me to add something new.  I thought had perfected socializing when I pulled off just 2 glasses of wine at Friday nights cocktail party, but no, now I have to learn to do it on the internet.  I'm told it's very easy and I can do it alone with my computer or cell phone.  Oh there's good news.  Isn't that operating heavy equipment?  I am sure there should be some kind of warning la...

When something so wrong can be so right!

May 13, 2010
Just when I was ready to lose my mind over some of the corporate garbage we have to go through, I found an old buddy who I hadn't seen for 18 years.  Almost worth all the hassle this corporation had put me through just to find him.

Also dealing with two stalkers this week.  These guys need to get a life and leave me alone.  My son has the perfect plan to unload these guys.  My son said, "Hey Mom, if you really want them gone, let them live with you for a week.  Oh they'll disappear then".  He'...
